When Northeast Ohio welcomed the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers to their new homes at Jacob's Field and Gund Arena in downtown's Gateway District, The Ferchill Group recognized the demand for a new hotel in the market that would cater to the sports fans and new visitors to the revitalized Gateway entertainment district.
The Ferchill Group tore down a former apartment complex located within a few blocks from the sports complex and secured $15 million in financing for the 14–story, 198–room Hampton Inn, the first hotel to be built in downtown Cleveland in 17 years and one which preceded the development of 10 others in the Comeback City.
The Hampton Inn, given the highest ranking from J.D. Power & Associates' guest satisfaction study for mid–priced hotels,
offers quality accommodations, friendly and professional staff, clean and comfortable surroundings, and free wireless high–speed Internet access in every room.
"I've been in the hospitality business for 20 years. John is the best owner I've ever worked with. He's very trusting and supports the decisions we make. We are successful because The Ferchill Group allows us to do our job and do it well."
Jeff Charo, General Manager, Hampton Inn Downtown Cleveland
