In 1998, the United Motors property at 4019 Prospect was a disappointment to all of us committed to the revitalization of this neighborhood – a MidTown success story had seemingly turned south in the blink of an eye. Restoration of the building had just gotten underway, but was abruptly halted as the deal fell through at the 11th hour. As if to rub salt in the wound, a fire soon broke out at the property and it seemed as though upper Prospect had taken a step backward. But local developer John Ferchill stepped in to revive the property as first–class office space. The property is now beautifully and faithfully restored as the home of the YWCA of Greater Cleveland and MidTown Cleveland.

The Guaranty Building has been a focal point not only locally but on a national level for its outstanding features in architecture and aesthetics.– Building Owners & Managers Association of Buffalo
Buffalo without the Guaranty would have been unimaginable. After nine decades this new form of building known as a “skyscraper” has endured the encroachments of the newer, glassier imitators. Through it all, remarkably intact, the Guaranty Building has prevailed. – “The Magazine” of The Buffalo News
